PALMS Saltwater Metal Jig Lure The SMELT SS SM-75g
Depending on sea conditions, anglers can control the jig’s movement by adjusting the strength of their rod action to find the most effective response. The ability to produce a wide range of actions is a key factor in successful jigging.
The Smelt SS is a model developed for the increasingly popular light jigging scene, focusing on the unique performance of slim silhouette jigs. Based on The Smelt, which features a baitfish-like profile, this version adopts an original design with an even slimmer silhouette.
The center of gravity is set slightly forward (toward the head), and thanks to different water-catching surfaces on the head and tail, the jig can produce two distinct actions simply by changing the connection point of the eye.
Strong Side (head eye attachment) – When attached in the standard position, it generates strong resistance and faster action.
Soft Side (tail eye attachment) – When attached in reverse, it produces a softer, slower action.
By selecting the appropriate drag resistance and setup, anglers can achieve optimal jig performance even in challenging conditions such as strong currents or wind. The slim silhouette provides excellent responsiveness and versatility, making it a powerful tool in difficult fishing situations.
Slim, Semi-Long Silhouette
A symmetrical, slim, semi-long body with a rod-like shape, offering sharp handling and excellent water-shedding properties.
Dual Action Performance
Soft Side (Tail Eye Connection)
When retrieved steadily, it releases just the right amount of water, creating a natural wobbling action. During jerks, it produces a moderate sliding motion. Ideal for slower presentations, especially when fish are less active or when targeting bites during the fall.
Strong Side (Head Eye Connection)
When retrieved, it firmly grips the water, creating a fluttering action. During jerks, it moves strongly and linearly through the water with high responsiveness, enabling quick and aggressive action.
