NOMAD DESIGN Offshore Casting & Trolling Topwater Lure MAVERICK Calm Water 230mm/135g
One of the most unique designs for a casting lure, this is a combination of a popper and floating stickbait, and something we have worked on for a long time to perfect with the ultimate balance and action. The cupped head and air chambers going through to the underside of the body have been designed to force bubbles along the side of the body, where they hug the sides of the lure creating a unique rolling swimming action.
It can be worked in a ‘walk the dog’ style, as a swimming stickbait with a wild action, as a popper, or fast across the surface with an erratic action. GTs, Spanish mackeral, kingfish and tuna find this lure irresistable, and coral trout and reef species in the shallows absolutely love the smaller versions.
The 140g/230mm sizes are made with Stainless Steel metal plates and foam filled bodies for the ultimate in strength and durability. The smaller versions come equipped with super strong Stainless Steel through wire construction and still retain the enormous strength of the unique HD ABS body.
The calmwater and roughwater versions have the weights placed at different internal locations to make the lure more suited to either calm or rough conditions. This is simply a guide and the angler can decide which they prefer for a certain scenario or rigging option.
All Nomad Design Lures come fitted with the highest quality super strong BKK hooks, chosen to balance perfectly with each lure, and provide exceptional swimming actions and hookup rates for all species. Nomad Design Lures can be fished straight out of the box with confidence.
The Maverick 230mm is supplied unrigged. We recommend using 2 x 11/0 or 12/0 BKK DEEP 6X hooks on the belly, rigged back to back, and a BKK Inline Single LONE DIABLO 11/0 single on the tail. Alternately, a pair of 6/0 BKK GT Rex trebles should be used.
TECHNOLOGY
HD ABS SYSTEM
Normal plastic was simply not strong enough for our lures, so we designed a special formula of High Density ABS plastic, which is a white colour, and is ultimately stronger than other plastics used for lure production. These lures also feature a thicker wall construction,
meaning ultimate strength and durability.
HD FOAM SYSTEM
This is our special system of injecting foam into the lure body, which creates extra strength in the lure body, but also means in the unlikely event of a huge fish puncturing the outer HD ABS plastic body, the lure will still function perfectly and still float and swim with the same great action it was designed with. In areas with mackerel, barracuda, cubera snapper orwahoo, this system means that lure failure is not going to happen.
MATRIX METAL PLATE SYSTEM
The ultimate in strength designed for big fish. The Matrix Metal Plate system features a unique design incorporating a stainless steel plate into the body mold of the lure. The plate is incorporated into the lure with a series of small holes at critical locations in the plate, allowing the molded plastic to weave through the metal plate and create the ultimate in strength. The metal plate means you will never lose a massive fish through lure failure, but the matrix system also means ultimate strength between the metal plate and molded body.
TRIPLE SHIELD PROTECTION
We ensure that the painting process and the quality of the finish on all lures is protected and likely to last longer by applying 3 final coats of a super tough clear resin to the outside of all lures. It provides additional colour depth and ensures that the finish on your lure will last longer.
