DAIWA Squid Fishing Floating Rattlin Lure IKAMETAL DROPPER SQ F/RV 2.5

Daiwa’s Emeraldas Ikametal Dropper Type-SQ RV is the Rattle version of this small cephalopod-shaped squid lure designed specifically for the Ika-Metal technique. It turns out to be a new concept and an innovative proposal for catching squid vertically from the boat. Produced in two sizes, #1.8 and #2.5, weighing 4 and 7 grams respectively, the new Dropper Type-SQ features a cephalopod-shaped body covered with a special velvety fabric that has two functions; the first is that when it gets wet it becomes transparent, making the color stand out, and the second is that when the squid grabs it, the pleasant touch encourages it to keep its grip. Furthermore, thanks to the two particular “Emperor Fins” it produces an oscillating action that attracts squid. All combined with extreme attention to detail, the choice of materials and two hooks made up of extremely sharp needles and produced with Japanese materials. Compared to the classic model, this RV version is equipped with an internal system of spheres that produces noise during movement.

The Emeraldas Ikametal Dropper Type-SQ achieves its maximum action, with a retrieve style called Omorig, which involves the use of a lead sinker, placed approximately 1 – 1.5 meters before the squid jigs. The squid jigs are attached to a rig called Omo Rig Snap Oyako Sarukan, which in many ways resembles a Tataki rig. The Emeraldas Ikametal Dropper Type-SQ are attached on cross swivels, with snaps, but the main differential characteristic of the Omorig is that the sinker moves faster and independently of the squid jigs. The Omorig style consists of an upward jerk, so that the lead and bait move upwards, and then a pause, during which the lead will quickly fall to the bottom and the jigs will be able to move with a slow fall.
