ALPS Aluminum gimbal butt fits all fighting belts.ALPS Fully Stainless steel roller quide and tip top guides provide smoother line flow and more fighting control. Corrosion proof machined aluminum reel seats with heavy duty machined hoods deliver greater strength without excess weight. Our custom designed rods take stress off of the angler, while place more of it to the fish !!!
Correct stand-up techniques apply pressure from the gimbal point of the rod, where it sits in the rod bucket, and stress is distributed across the thighs. Stress on the lower back is avoided by wearing the belt on the thighs, with the harness around and supporting the lower back and buttocks. This means that the angler's back remains straight, and his upper legs take the weight and do the work, applying mechanical pressure through bending and straightening.
To load the rod, you must keep your back straight and bend your knees. Get a wind and gain line by straightening your legs and winding in a downward stroke. Lean slightly over the reel as you do this so your body becomes vertical again. All the pressure should be spread across your thighs when a fish is pulling drag or when you're bending your knees to move the fish. Your left hand should be placed on top of the reel to help with balance, to steer line onto the reel and to ensure that the rod and reel doesn't fly back at you if pressure is suddenly lost. Only toward the end of the fight should your left hand be used to lift the rod and apply more pressure.
